About This Project
The Rotary Club of Zamboanga City West, in partnership with the Rotaractors of ZC West, proudly returned to Bilang-bilang Island to launch Phase 2 of the Gardenator Project—a continuing initiative focused on environmental sustainability and food security for geographically isolated communities.
Despite a full day of heavy rain and rough weather, our commitment to Service Above Self never wavered. With unwavering spirit, our volunteers braved the elements to install additional Gardenator units—an innovative vertical barrel farming system that allows households to grow food efficiently, even in areas with limited space and resources.
This phase of the project places special emphasis on empowering women and strengthening local communities by equipping them with sustainable tools to grow their own food and create healthier, more self-reliant households.
In addition to the installation of Gardenator units, the team also distributed food packs to 60 households, offering much-needed support to local residents and further reinforcing our mission of holistic community upliftment.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our sponsors and partners for making this initiative possible. A heartfelt thank you goes to Ric & Remy's Bakeshop for generously providing the barrels central to the Gardenator system.
Together, we are planting seeds of change—one barrel and one act of kindness at a time. 🌾
