Project Sonrisas: Share a Smile, One School at a time

In line with the Rotary International Area of Focus on Basic Education and Literacy, the Rotary Club of Zamboanga City West, with the Rotary Club Anns of Zamboanga City West and the Rotaract Club of Zamboanga City West, held a meaningful turnover ceremony of educational materials to the Toy Library of Ayala Central School on June 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM.

With the theme “Sama-Sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa”, the initiative underscores the collective effort of community stakeholders in nurturing a generation of readers and lifelong learners. The donated materials—ranging from storybooks and activity sets to educational toys—aim to support early literacy and foster an engaging environment for young learners to explore, imagine, and grow.

The turnover ceremony was warmly attended by school faculty, teachers, parents, and students of Ayala Central School, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary community for their steadfast dedication to educational advancement. School representatives shared their excitement about how the improved resources would significantly benefit the school’s literacy programs and promote interactive learning.

This project is part of Rotary’s broader commitment to creating lasting, positive change in communities by ensuring equitable access to quality education and resources that empower both educators and learners.
